Antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) have traditionally been used to protect gut health, maximize feed efficiency and increase production animal growth rates. However, with the rise of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens and consumer demand for antibiotic-free (ABF) protein, an increasing number of production systems are moving toward reduced use (or a complete halt) of in-feed antibiotics.
Maintaining a healthy intestinal environment in production animals now relies more heavily on other management methods, including drug-free feed additives that reduce the risk of enteric disease while adding value for producers.

In necrotic enteritis-challenged broilers, Varium improved feed conversion, reduced mortality and increased weight gain, whether it was used alone or in combination with an antibiotic.

Patented NeoPrime promotes swine intestinal health and gently primes intestinal immunity. In a study with weaned piglets, NeoPrime performed equivalent to antibiotics, zinc oxide and their combination when measured by weight gain or feed efficiency on day 35.

Coccidiosis in poultry is typically controlled by ionophores and synthetic chemical coccidiostats. However, drug resistance and increasing public concerns about medication and synthetic chemicals in the food chain have driven development of natural control strategies.
Phylox Feed is a natural alternative to anticoccidial drugs and vaccines formulated with a synergistic blend of bioactive phytochemicals. In a study with Eimeria-challenged broilers, Phylox had equivalent feed conversion rate and coccidial lesion scores compared to an ionophore and a synthetic chemical coccidiostat.
