Amlan® International successfully concluded its 2025 LATAM Tech Summit, an immersive two-day gathering that united distributors, partners, and industry experts from across Latin America. Designed to share cutting-edge insights, the summit centered on enhancing production economics through natural, mineral-based feed additive solutions.
Held at Hotel Xcaret México in Playa del Carmen, the event combined high-value technical presentations with collaborative discussions and hands-on networking, reinforcing Amlan’s commitment to strengthening animal production throughout the region.
One of the summit’s many impactful technical sessions was led by Dr. Carlos Mallmann of University Santa Maria, Brazil, who provided an in-depth look at Mycotoxin Prevalence in LATAM and Ideal Testing Methods. Global market expert Pedro Dejneka, Co-Founder and Partner at MD Commodities, delivered a data-driven overview of Grain & Animal Protein. Animal health and gut integrity were focal themes as well. Dr. Gerardo Nava of University Queretaro presented on The Importance of Intestinal Integrity for Optimal Animal Performance, breaking down the biological mechanisms of gut function and practical approaches to protecting it.
Additional academic perspectives added further depth to the program. Dr. Duarte Diaz, Professor at The University of Arizona, shared critical insights in his presentation, The Significance of Controlling Fungal & Bacterial Toxins in Cattle, highlighting the difficulty of on farm diagnosis, and the impact of toxin exposure on herd health and long-term productivity. Complementing this, Dr. Gino Lorenzoni, Professor at Penn State University, explored practical strategies for Management & Control of Coccidiosis in Poultry, offering science-based approaches for mitigating one of the industry’s most persistent performance challenges. Adding to these valuable insights, Dr. Carlos Campabadal, Professor at Kansas State University, delivered an engaging session on Grain Quality Preservation: From the Field to the Feed Mill.
Amlan’s own technical leadership was showcased through presentations from Dr. Aldo Rossi, Director of Veterinary Services and Dr. Cesar Coto, Technical Director LATAM. Dr. Rossi explored the scientific foundation behind two key products: Phylox®, Amlan’s mineral-based alternative to conventional anticoccidial drugs and vaccines, and Calibrin®-Z, a premium toxin-binding solution designed to help mitigate the effects of fungal and bacterial contaminants. The technical program also featured insights from Dr. Coto followed with a detailed look at Varium in his presentation, Varium: Naturally Promote Efficiency & Productivity, emphasizing its role in supporting gut health and driving improved production outcomes.
The summit opened with a welcome address from Dr. Wade Robey, President of Amlan International, who emphasized the importance of science-backed innovation and strong distributor relationships. Attendees also heard from Daniel S. Jaffee, President & Chief Executive Officer of Oil-Dri Corporation of America, who shared the Company’s long history of value-driven growth and its ongoing investment in mineral science and global feed solutions.
Beyond the technical sessions, participants enjoyed a variety of activities that showcased the beauty and culture of the region. Attendees explored the resort through experiences like an immersive river tour, relaxed together during downtime, and joined in team-building moments throughout the property. In the evenings, the group enjoyed local music and regional cuisine that made the summit not only productive, but genuinely memorable for everyone.
“The LATAM Tech Summit is much more than an event—it’s a platform for learning, collaboration, and driving progress in animal production across our region,” said Dr. Robin Jarquin, Director of Sales LATAM at Amlan International. “We are deeply grateful for the trust our partners place in us and proud to support them with natural, science-driven solutions that deliver real value.”
Amlan extends its sincere thanks to all attendees, presenters, and partners who contributed to making the summit a success.
